Gareth Chilcott, more popularly known as "Cooch" to his friends, was born on the 20th November 1956.  Raised in Bristol, Gareth was educated at Aston Park.

His introduction to Rugby came when he was 11 years of age and started playing at Senior School. He joined the Old Redcliffians Junior team for whom he played for 3 years. Gareth then joined Bath Rugby Club in 1976 when he was 20 and for whom he has played ever since.

Gareth has played in excess of 300 matches for Bath, being the only player to have received 6 Cup Winning Medals.
His first England cap came in 1984 against Australia and Gareth now has a total of 14 to his credit. He toured with the British Lions in 1989 on their extensive tour in Australia.

Now retired from International Rugby, Gareth is still an indispensable member of the Bath team.

Gareth is married to wife Anne who works in Bristol, nursing handicapped childern.

Gareth can be regularly seen on most television channels being asked for his comments on Rugby.
